Cataract.. what do you know about it?!

Cataract is defined as an intraocular crystalline cataract. The crystalline lens is located in the anatomy of the eye behind the iris (colored) and pupil.

Originally, the crystalline lens of the eye is a transparent crystalline lens that allows for clear, detailed vision. This varies from person to person, and one eye may also differ from the other in the extent of its darkness and lack of clarity of vision in what is known as visually significant cataract.

What accelerates the infection of cataracts is the high level of sugar in the blood for long periods, as it is shown through studies that 20% of those who undergo the procedure of removing cataracts and implanting a lens are originally diabetics.

It is believed that tension, anxiety, sadness and psychological pressures have a role in the occurrence of cataracts early, as well as taking medications containing cortisones in large doses for long periods or infection with other immune or hormonal diseases in which cataracts are part of the syndrome of symptoms of these diseases such as pigmentary retinal dystrophy or with Known as retinitis pigmentosa.

Cataracts may form congenital in some newborns in what is known as congenital cataract or as a result of exposure to a severe traumatic cataract in the eye.

It is worth noting that cataracts are not water as some people think through the mental perception of the name, but it is a lens inside the eye consisting of proteins and transparent tissues that become cataracts in these mentioned cases.
